Thank you, Peter. My favourite walking area near Madrid. (1 hour, 15 m on the bus). I just wish it hadn't been well over a year since my last walk here (many reasons for this).

As deep in the nature as he can get. An undoubtedly favourable and inspiring retreat.

A nice perspective of this beautiful rocky mountain range . I still remember the helicopter that crashed into the Pico de la Miel in which Rosa de Lima Manzano died on a day of thick fog .

Andy Rodker club has replied to Anton Cruz Carro club
Thank you, Anton!
I researched that helicopter crash and found bits of metal from the helicopter at the exact impact sight.
The crash was in 1988 (I think, from memory of my research) and I found the small pieces in 2011 to 13 at places where you need a bit of climbing experience, which I have.
I didn't look into the crash out of morbid fascination, but becuse I was exploring the area in depth in those 2 years anyway as I had the time and transport to come here twice a week. It just added a degree of interest to my explorations!
It wasn't the Pico de Miel though, but Cancho Largo, at the other (higher) end of the Sierra de La Cabrera.
There is a monument near the crash sight which can only be scrambled up to to see. I have posted photos of it on Panoramio but I cannot currently access many of my archive photos so can't now show it. Sorry,
