They were, Kenny.
If I had had an early morning walk before breakfast, these would definitely have been snaffled by yours truly! I have done it before and the flavour of these mushrooms, fried whole in butter, a sprinkling of salt and pepper on very good toasted farmhouse bread fresh from the oven ... and a meal to set you up for the day! I am drooling just remembering it!

THESE ARE WONDERFUL SIMMERED IN SA LITTLE WATER WITH A SPLASH OF MILK IN IT. THEN PATTED DRY AND FINISHED OFF IN THE BACON FAT

That's about the size of it, Diane!
I left these alone because 1) it was too early on my walk and they would have got squished in my rucksack, and would have dried out and lost freshness and
2) they looked so happy and at home on the clifftop by the seaside that I felt it would be too cruel to pick them!
