Field mushrooms. Southwest Peninsula Coast Path

If I had had an early morning walk before breakfast, these would definitely have been snaffled by yours truly! I have done it before and the flavour of these mushrooms, fried whole in butter, a sprinkling of salt and pepper on very good toasted farmhouse bread fresh from the oven ... and a meal to set you up for the day! I am drooling just remembering it!

THESE ARE WONDERFUL SIMMERED IN SA LITTLE WATER WITH A SPLASH OF MILK IN IT. THEN PATTED DRY AND FINISHED OFF IN THE BACON FAT

Always good to accompany you on your clifftop walks Andy. I am always wary of picking wild mushrooms for eating -read too many disaster stories I guess :)
