Taken on our 2020 backpacking trip in the Colorado Rockies, the view is from our second day's camp just over Trailrider Pass.

The photo was taken from a backpacking camp in the Colorado Rockies when we hiked and backpacked there in 2020. We were camped on the west side of Trailrider Pass and were waiting for the sunset when the photo was taken.

On our 2020 backpacking trip in the Colorado Rockies we followed the Maroon-Snowmass Trail over Buckskin Pass, our third pass of over 12000 feet into the valley below where we camped for a night.

Buckskin Pass was out third pass of over 12000 feet when hiking and backpacking in the Colorado Rockies the summer of 2020.

We are home again after driving over 2000 miles (3200 km) in two days. We were in Michigan visiting family and left Wednesday evening, drove through the night and all day Thursday, slept for a few hours and arrived home about 7 AM Friday. Taken on a 2020 backpacking trip in the Colorado Rockies, the photo was taken from Trailrider Pass (12,415 ft, 3,784 m) as we came back over the pass in the morning, the second day of our hike. We were on our way to Buckskin Pass (12462 ft, 3798 m). The peak at the left is Hagerman Peak with Snowmass Mountain behind it. The lightly colored outcrop is gypsum which we found also at the top of the pass. I was hiking with my brother the same brother with whom I hiked this past summer.

This photo was taken on a 2020 backpacking trip in the Colorado Rockies and is a photo of Snowmass Lake from Trailrider Pass. We were coming back over the pass after camping in the basin below Trailrider the night before.

This was taken by my grandson the last morning of our backpacking trip in the Colorado Rockies. I told him it was the best photo of the whole trip. The lake is Cathedral Lake and Cathedral Peak is on the far right of the photo.

The last night of our stay at Cathedral Lake in the Colorado Rockies it rained all night and my brother's tent leaked badly. We ended up with all four of us in my tent. The next morning was dry and sunny and while waiting for our equipment to dry we wandered the area doing some photography. These wildflowers were on the shore of Cathedral Lake. The white flowers are Alpine Bistort and the blue, Fringed Bluebells. There are some Rose Paintbrush near the Bistort and some yellow Ragwort in the background.

These were some of the wildflowers at Cathedral Lake the last morning of our backpacking excursion there. We'd spent a wet night and were waiting for our gear to dry while we wandered the area doing some photography.
