The carnival opens
If they don't have corn dogs and caramel apples, I don't want to go. Regulation carnival food (among other delights):

(NO ketchup. Add 3x that amount of mustard - and it has to be the bright yellow kind, never brown. These are the rules.)

(Must use very tart, green apple! Americans, NO red or yellow "Delicious," or you will be on record as a hopeless wimp.)

Petar Bojić, buonacoppi, John FitzGerald and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

corn dogs are hot dogs with corn?
When I was young I liked candyfloss, but I also hated it because everything was sticky after eating it, the finger, the mouth, the clothes ... so, a schizophrenic relationship to it ;-)

As the picture (link) shows, a hot dog on a stick, dipped in corn meal batter, then deep fried. Oh, yes, we call that cotton candy, and I know exactly what you're talking about! It was always a dilemma, huh? ;-b

Pink cotton candy was my childhood dream. After I had nagged my mother into buying it for me once, I was so disappointed and never wanted it again. Boring, sweet and sticky- no taste;-)

Corn dogs sound very healthy, too;-)

In Australia you'd be after a toffee apple and a Pluto Pup or a Dagwood Dog. I've never understood the idea of the toffee apple, a bizarre object.

OK, I'll have one of each! That's OK, I'll eat toffee apples for you.

Bonjour Diane. Jean Paul

Jean Paul, hello! It is nice to see you again! Yes, it is hard to maintain two accounts, although I still have my 500px account. I deleted my Flickr one because they were bought by Smugmug. I just did not feel like another transition. Merci beaucoup, mon ami! J'espère vous revoir ici!
