The last of my geraniumgeraniums (1)

This little geranium had a blast of blooms late this fall, just before frost arrives. I brought it in so I could enjoy its last party!
I have no idea...

The title refers to my thoughts when I take a picture edit the picture, then (rarely) upload the picture. I can generally see, but not in a very useful sense!

Location: just south of the "Bug Station," Dorris, California. Only a few miles from the Oregon border. (I live in Oregon.)
My daughter-in-law and my great-granddaughter. They're on an expedition around The Lake, which forms on the property when there is heavy precipitation in late winter and spring. It forms only every few years. It's about 3 ft. deep, at most. A superb place for paddling around while the dogs swim and play. At night, there is a deafening frog and toad symphony. The Lake is busy with hundreds of ducks, egrets, owls and even bald eagles eating frogs, toads and little fish.
Where these amphibians and fish come from, I don't know. (I can't see well enough to do research on this!) Are they the kind that sprout out of the mud during the water years? Maybe...there are no other water sources nearby, such as a river, to bring the water-dwellers to The Lake. When The Lake is gone, the surrounding area - several square miles - is arid and even looks alkaline in some spots. Anyway, that's the story of The Lake!

Okay, this is a ridicu lous photo, but since I now take about
one photo per week, why not show this one?
(For those not yet in the know, I'm losing my eyesight
and often have no idea what I'm seeing.)

Granddaughter with her horse, Josie. This should have been uploaded second of the two horse photos. Really, it should have ben a collage of two shots, but I can't handle those complications, anymore! ;;-\

Yayy Josie! Learning to jump! This was supposed to be the first photo, but just use your imagination. ;-b

This represents how I see, now. I have failing eyesight and it doesn't seem to stabilize into a workable state. This is both depressing and a little bit interesting. Things I miss the most:
Accurate color
Focus
Depth perception
Peripheral vision
Accurate contrast
Smooth surfaces
Reading books
Reading crisp black print
Driving!
Walking with assurance

This is a tiny photo of my mother, about a year old, sitting on a blanked outdoors. I've placed a prism over it to add some confusion.

Shock, anger, fear, depression.
Feel free to comment about the "situation." I might not have much heart or brain space to respond very much.
Cutting winter firewood

Allowed to cut dead trees only by the Dept. of Forestry. The two on the left are my son (works for Forest Service) and grandson, the rest are friends of theirs. Wild and crazy day! It's so much like old logging photos as long ago as the early 20th C., just with better equipment.
I wish my dad could have lived to see this. He would love it! In his younger years (age 11 to about 38) he was a logger. He was a woods foreman, coordinating the operations and also operated the big equipment, CAT D-8, skidders, Skagit loader, trucks and so on. I remember it so well. He would take us out to the woods on occasion. I can still smell the chain grease on the CAT and how it felt to struggle up into the cab to sit beside him. What a machine! I still love them!
