Giovanni Sommacal träumte von einer besseren Zukunft, deshalb kam er 1922 nach Deutschland. Anfangs verkaufte er seine Ware auf Großveranstaltungen und Sportplätzen. Sein Eis wurde in der Stadt bald zu einer begehrten Köstlichkeit. 1930 eröffnete er seine Eisdiele. Bis 2012 war das Sommacal ein Familienbetrieb. 2017 hat es unter neuer Führung, mit den alten Familienrezepten, wiedereröffnet.

Giovanni Sommacal dreamed of a better future, so in 1922 he came to Germany. Initially, he sold his goods at major events and sports fields. His ice cream soon became a coveted delicacy in the city. In 1930 he opened his ice cream parlor. Until 2012, the Sommacal was a family business. In 2017 it has reopened under new leadership, with the old family recipes.
