➽ Hier stehen zu beiden Seiten der Brücke über den Stadtbach Überreste des "Unteren Brunnenwerks", einer technischen Rarität, die zwischen dem 16. Jahrhundert und dem Jahr 1879 betrieben wurde. Im Süden der Brücke verläuft eine gusseiserne Rinne (Zirbelnuss-Kanalbrücke) von 1848 (PiP), die das Wasser des Inneren Stadtgrabens über den Stadtbach leitet. Aufgabe dieser Rinne war es, verschmutztes Gewerbeabwasser vom Wasser zu trennen, das man als städtisches Trinkwasser nutzte. Nordwestlich der Stadtbach-Brücke stehen sowohl der Untere Brunnenturm sowie eine ehemalige Pumpstation. Der Untere Brunnenturm war in einem früheren Wehrturm als Wasserspeicher eingerichtet worden. Von ihm aus wurde früher das Leitungssystem der nördlichen Augsburger Altstadt mit Trinkwasser versorgt. Dazu nutzte man hier das Gefälle des Stadtbachs, dessen Wasser man in den Turm pumpte. ➽ Augsburg bewirbt sich mit seiner historischen Wasserwirtschaft um den Unesco Welterbetitel. Es geht um Denkmäler, wie die Wasserwerke und -türme, sowie die kilometerlangen Lechkanäle. Von der Stadtgründung bis heute spielten und spielen sie eine wichtige Rolle in der Versorgung der Bürger und trugen wesentlich zur Entwicklung der Stadt bei.

➽ Here on both sides of the city creek bridge are the remains of the lower wells factory, a technical rarity which was operated between the 16th century and 1879. In the south of the bridge runs since 1848 a cast iron gutter (Cembra Nut Canal Bridge) (PiP) which directs the water of the moat over the city creek. Object of this canel was to separate contaminated industrial wastewater from the water that used as a municipal drinking water. Northwest of the town creek bridge there are both the lower fountain tower and the former pumping station. The lower wells tower was established in an earlier defense tower for water storage. From there the pipe system has supplied the northern part of Augsburg with drinking water. For that was used the slope of the town creek whose water was pumped into the tower. ➽ Augsburg is applying for the Unesco World Heritage title with its historic water management. It's about monuments such as the waterworks and towers as well as the miles of Lech canels. From the city's founding until today the canels played and still play an important role in supply the citizens and contributed significantly to the development of the city.
