The Northern Lights come to my home.

The Aurora borealis was viable in Shropshire too, but we don't have any big horizons, being in a tree lined dip in a village with too much light pollution.

Herb you are one up on me still part of my bucket list of shots to yet get. Shame we where not still down In Esperance it would have been the perfect place. Nice set of stars none here....

It would have been nice to see it from further away but I had to keep where I was in case it al suddenly stopped again. I think you get the Aurora Borealis from the south pole where you are? Great that the stars were captured too with my old 10-24mm.

Yes it was the same in the East Midlands. Not that I saw it unfortunately. I just assumed because we're in Leicester it wouldn't be visible because of light pollution but even in the city people have taken amazing pics of red and green skies.

I would not have known but it was announced that it was visible over most of Britain on the 22:30 BBC TV weather. On looking out from the inside, it all looked normal but remarkably clear. Only when we were out and our eyes got used to the dark did we begin to see the colours. It did look more obvious on our phones but it was useless trying to take a long exposure shot hand held with those. My wife, after her recent cataracts operation saw the colours clearer than me. I have seen far better than mine too from just the other end of town. I was tempted to find a clearer bigger view but was afraid that the whole thing might just stop before I got there.

Great shot Herb with lots of stars well done to day my daughter called to see if I had seen the Northen Lights last night she had lots of photos on her phone from my village I never went out dam ⭐.

Well done Herb I forgot to look :((((( the local paper had a photo taken a couple of miles from me it must have been strong with the light pollution from Leicester

Ah yes, I know the story as we missed the lights right over the Loch in front of our cottage in Kyle of Lochalsh in May as we slept. We have a great deal of light pollution here but between the lights the views were good.

Hi Dave. At first that is all I saw but the longer I looked the better my eyes saw the colours. This long four second exposure brought out the exposure and colours too. A great experience.

in the second week of October I was on the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea. On Friday, October 11, someone told me that he had seen the Northern Lights yesterday, Thursday evening.
So late on Friday evening I went to a dark meadow with my camera. I waited for an hour, but unfortunately I didn't see any Northern Lights. What a pity
