The Northern Lights come to my home.
A remarkable sight met me at my home last night. Yes the Aurora Borealis made a showing. After trying to see this several times in the north of Scotland and even attempting to go to Iceland (Covid stopped that one) and failing, I was shocked. The first time it has shown here in Oldham, in NW England I believe. In reality it was even seen in London and so no doubt over all of northern Europe.

A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
I am so pleased that you eventually got it. I have never seen, except from a plane.
Despite going out to look these last few days, defeated by clouds!
Best Wishes, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!
Peter
in the second week of October I was on the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea. On Friday, October 11, someone told me that he had seen the Northern Lights yesterday, Thursday evening.
So late on Friday evening I went to a dark meadow with my camera. I waited for an hour, but unfortunately I didn't see any Northern Lights. What a pity
Regards, Günter
In the far north you rarely get to see the red colours but when the lights show further south they are mostly red (don't ask me to explain the physics;-). Sadly in and around my town the light pollution is so bad I would never stand a chance.
