Animal Lives Matter!

Animal Lives Matter!
Too much media attention for these animals. After the recent demonstrations here in Bristol and London, these foxes decided to follow suit. They found the statue of a human in my garden and toppled it over. Good job it was not near the sea or they would have dragged it there before throwing it in.
(all from my garden, yesterday - do you recognise my bird bath?) pip
Enjoy.

We say here that we would have to move into the countryside to get away from all the fantastic wildlife we have in our garden. I consider myself very lucky!

Hi Dan. very happy that you enjoyed this one. The bird bath (our old garden pond fountain) is not permanently fixed together. It is just held like that by its own weight. So no problems lifting it up from the grass again and putting a little water in there for the birds.

Oh dear! Naughty naughty!

They are cute, though.

Aren't they just. They were having a good scratch here -so I suspect full of fleas etc so no patting from us. They are extremely shy and quite often move away if they see us at the window.

Yes, when they are not knocking over statues they are digging up the lawns. Glad you liked it.

Some weight to pull over, hope they were not damaged to much. Pests for many but if it's wild and lives I love them all.

Thanks Maurice, the main concern here was the possibility that they could have been injured in this act. They both looked quite perfect here and so I presume only the statue was really disturbed. I think I know where these foxes live, on my valley walk ut we do like to see them here.

Ha ha, that's a great story Herb! About time that statue in Bristol came down. They have been debating it for years and years. A pity it happened the way it did. Are you watching 'A House Through Time' at the moment? It's on a street in Bristol. Back to your main picture....well done!!
Cheers, Rosa.

Glad you liked the story and shot Rosa and certainly food for thought with our foxes. As to the real Bristol statue, I agree with your comment really but I am not happy about people taking matters into their own hands.. I have seen that program advertised on the TV but have not seen it. Maybe I should try.

Cheers, Herb

Yes, I agree Herb. The programme has been on previously with a house in Liverpool and one in Newcastle. So interesting telling of the lives of ordinary people who had lived in the house.
Have a good Thursday, Rosa.

Very cheeky of them! At least you caught them (if not in the act). Was this the birdbath you repaired only recently and has it survived undamaged? I should add that foxes are unwanted feral animals here.

Herb Riddle club has replied to tiabunna club
That would have been something to capture on my camera George. Yes the same bird bath of my late bird close-ups but it had not undergone a a rel repair -simply a thorough waterproofing of the water trough. I had simply to pick ip the undamaged statue and bowl here and replace it onto the stand. I may try to make it even more sturdy with a pole through the centre. It originally had a plastic pipe carrying water.

As you know Herb, I've seen these images before, but they look so much better viewed large on my computer screen. This pair of foxy vandals are really beautiful and you've captured them in fantastic colour and detail.

I'm glad your lovely bird bath can be put together again Herb, otherwise you'll have a delegation of annoyed birds breaking your windows next :-))

I actually had a Greater Spotted Woodpecker in the garden today..............first time ever. A very fleeting visit though and no chance of a photo - but that's OK Just seeing it was great..!!

Nice to see you here again Keith. yes you have already had a pre-view of these but slightly smaller I think and without any real thought of tweeks. I like the thought of those angry birds throwing stones at our windows. All back in place now as outlined above to Tiabuna.
isn't it great to see a woodpecker like that in your garden. You know already that we had one here only yesterday. Hopefully you will get some photos of it. once it knows it can get food in your garden, it should return.
Cheers, Herb

Oooh crikey !... Herb.. that's a fine capture... in broad daylight too ! - I reckon they toppled the bird bath looking for food maybe... // To continue.. yes 'A house through time' is a brilliant idea.. and well presented too.. // Best wishes to you... from Dj.

Herb Riddle club has replied to David G Johnson club
Thanks David. Its normally the early morning when we see these foxes. I think in the late dry weather they have looked for a water source to quench their thirst and found this bird bath. I had noticed that the top statue was a bit wobbly on there if I pushed on it and so imagine the body of a fox on it hind legs against it, would topple it fairly easy. Glad you liked it. I must re-enforce this.

Cheers, Herb

Hi Herb

Very well caught

Wonderful composition and eye contact between them!!

Whatever wrongs might have been done by others elsewhere, I see no excuse for vandalism of a statue, unless of course you are an animal and don't know any better!

Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

Ha, ha, I am with you there Peter. To be honest, after all these tails here, I must admit that there is a possibility that this pair is perfectly innocent, and it was bad, bad badger that dun it sir! Now -there is a real vandal! :)

Keep safe enjoy the weekend. Herb
