The Dingle Penisular

The Dingle Penisular
The Dingle peninsular, County Kerry is a wild and lonely coast but it is quite beautiful too. This is actually on the 'Slea Head Drive' section along the Wild Atlantic Way and is from a little car park viewpoint at Coumeenoole facing west. Behind me a rather attractive sandy cove too - 'Slea Head Beach.' Note the very jagged rocks - not a place to sail too close to. Minutes later we had a real downpour in this turbulent weather.!

Contrast these rocks and coastline with the sandstone coast of Cyprus visited just a few months later -PiP

As usual, best viewed full screen black.

Thanks a lot Rosa. A great days drive here of this 30 mile loop which is much smaller than my previous 'Ring of Kerry' loop. I have put some more info on here now for you. The photo is a little strongly edited here perhaps but it does bring across the sheer wildness of this coastline. Very happy that you enjoyed another of my seascapes.

A great wild place Greg. I liked the silver reflections on the rock best but we all have our favourite things. Yes, a place to re-visit, certainly.

A very striking image Herb! The light is fantastic, especially on the cliffs and rocks. I love the colour pallette too.

You've really captured the rugged nature of the coast and the rocks and choppy seas hint of real danger in bad weather! Beautifully done..!!

Nice to see you again Maurice. A great place to see the world here -next stop the US across this water. Happy too that you weighed up the similar wild coast of Cyprus albeit quite a different feeling to it. Cheers, Herb

Indeed you are right Eva. This coloured photo seems almost monochrome I know. I did do a copy in monochrome too and it looked all right but decided on this instead. Glad you liked it.
