Cosmic Bat NGC 1788

Cosmic Bat NGC 1788
I have been hit by a bug that reduced my weekend to sleep and rest. What was not liked was the vomiting and Diarrhea that went with the bug.......

AS my mount want still out of action Carlos asked if I wanted to do a one night only to use his gear to capture a target so I could process it. I had to choose the target, the exposure time, the filters that where used and when the target was high enough to start . AS I had only one night Thursday I chose Ha O3 S2 filters rather than the 4 LRGB used for normal colour shots.. I got the info on Friday morning when the bug hit so as you can imagine it was not even looked at computer did not get a start

This is from Saturdays very late afternoon processing and a target I chose because of its wispy nature. this was processed as Ha S2 O3 to get an almost real red like result. once my mount comes back this will be shot with my gear to compare. Hubble pallet S2 Ha O3 green not removed.

Such incredible images Steve. This all starts to make some sense after watching 'Brian Cox's Universe' series. Well done.

Herb you are right this plus all the other images start to make sense when you see Brian Cox's the "universe". the one on the Milky Way brought to light a lot more info and why theses area's exist in space. Hope that I can capture a few more of these as well would have been great to have captured this 500 years ago and see just how its changed if any in all those years mine is a 2021 Thursday 2 December 9:46pm to Nautical dawn. In that time I calculated I would get 20shot each but did not know Carlos has his gears focus every 3 degrees or every 1/2 hour so in reality this colour be only 15 shot I was not told.

can't wait to get my mount returned then reset back up I will shoot this myself with my gear to compare. Many thanks glad you enjoy the shots, Did you find the Bat.

On the mend thats for sure but it looks its not going to be gone fast. Thank you Nick, I thank Carlos for giving me the chance to take his mount over for the night. Will be interesting to see my view as a comparison.
