March Fly or Horse Fly

March Fly or Horse Fly
This is a set 10 photos I took 105mm F14 of the March fly to try out focus stacking but never found the right program. this is stacked in Picolay you can see why the March Fly sting when they bite. I must do a few more with some flowers.

You've turned me off visiting WA... Yours sound more fierce than eastern states ones.

A great macro, Steve. Not one I'd manage, as my subject would have been flattened. :-)

this one I found Clara had sprayed but I know that with me it would have been the same flattened.

A very distinctive image here Steve and I was just wondering how you managed to get 10 photos, even at speed without it flying of. Magic spray by Clara was the answer I sought. The stacking works well.

Keep safe. Herb

Kind of the clue is the dust over the fly as well in nature the fly would have cleaned that all off with its legs. note the claws at the end of the legs is no wonder it can hold on to most places with ease. worth a revisit.
