Planes, Trucks, Cars, Clouds & Time........HFF

Planes, Trucks, Cars, Clouds & Time........HFF
A concept shot. Surround the tree in a halo.
Easier said than done when you cant see the Southern Cross or the Pointers. this was method three as it was all I could see. I watched for days the expected cloud cover to see if it was even possible.

www.ipernity.com/doc/1073393/37255060/in/album/723117

On the bus trip we went back to the same pace and I had a window in the dark of 1/1/2 hours before the bus left. I am out in a field in grass heads chest height( snake territory) Electric fence at my back. This is only 40 of the total 50 shots before the clouds closed the night far to early but thats part or Astro photography.

I am chuffed my head shot you can see before you in all its unexpected glory.

Many thanks I was happy to get what I had in my head despite the many extras I did not bargain for.

that the very best way to describe the two poles but in the south it takes more to get right as we have no star to go to just imaginary points. I do note the top of the tree has been trimmed to remove the dead wood in the three years.

This is the season as there is no milky way about as it has gone below the horizon till march next year when it comes back up again. Glad you like the shot.

It always hard to pick south with no actual star but the use of the two Magellanic clouds is quite easy to use. will be my method from now on as this time of year no Southern Cross or Pointers, Glad you like the shot .

That's great, Steve! You are lucky to have the Southern Cross , I saw it the only time when I was in Peru.
Steve Paxton club has replied to Daniela Brocca club
yes you will only see the southern cross in the southern hemisphere like Peru. we also do have a false cross in the sky as well only 4 stars but southern cross is 5 stars. Glad you like the shot.

A fine composition Steve. I like the time and trouble you went to, to get the southern cross right at the top centre of the main tree trunk. I know there things are not easy. I see this is a multiple exposure and so I presume you used 'stacking' for this? ~ Another masterpiece -well done. ⭐

Cheers, Herb

In this case there was no southern cross that was below the horizon ,so I used method three the two Magellanic Clouds to find south. this going forward will be my method as its much easier and you always can see the two clouds. Starstax was the program a very god one for this and very easy to use. this is also some thing you also could try using the northern star as your center as you can see you dont have to have that many to get the halo happening......

No Milky way this is the next best thing . Glad you like it.

I had not realised that this also was also chosen to include that illusive fence for you Steve. Another addition for you. Well done.

Interesting It was 7' fence I could not get it out of the shot so it made it perfect for HFF and a worth addition to the night fences. HFF from down under.

What a great shot, the celestial roundabout! You very cleverly integrated that foreground fence:-) I'd have been scared to go into snake terrain....

Steve Paxton club has replied to Gudrun club
Who dares wins I live on the principal they dont like me and would rather move away and I wanted the shot to prove it could be done and in the hope in the last three years I did learn some thing. Fence I could not take out of the shot it was a 2M high fence so it was always going to be in the shot. Hey HFF material.....

I thought it best for any one who wants to learn from these to put them all together in one place. It makes it easier to see the subtle differences.
