L’interno è a navata unica.

The church of San Francesco of Ostuni is part of the ancient monastic complex of the Franciscan convent fathers and was built for the first time in 1304 on land donated by Prince Philip of Taranto.
It certainly had Gothic characteristics and maintained them until 1615 when it underwent major changes and was largely rebuilt. In the second half of the eighteenth century, the Franciscan Fathers, after having rebuilt the convent on a project by the architect Pietro Magarelli, also made the church new.
The facade was designed in 1883 by the architect Gaetano Jurleo to harmonize it with the prospectus of the City Palace in which the old convent was transformed. The interior has a single nave.
