Bei den alten Robinien - At the old black locusts

Diese alte Robinien (Robinia pseudoacacia) stehen zusammen mit einem Wegkreuz an einer Kreuzung von zwei Feldwegen. Eine Bank steht unter den Bäumen und dient oft Wanderern als schattiger Ruheplatz. Die Robinie stammt aus Nordamerika und wird überall in Europa seit fast 400 Jahren in Parks und Gärten gepflanzt. Sie wächst inzwischen auch wild. Sie war Baum des Jahres 2020 in Deutschland. Die Pflanze, bis auf die Blüten, gilt als stark giftig, besonders die Rinde und die Früchte. Wegen der Giftigkeit für Pferde darf Robinienholz nicht zum Bau von Boxen verwendet werden.

A bench stands under the trees and often serves as a shady resting place for hikers. The black locust is native to North America and has been planted in parks and gardens throughout Europe for almost 400 years. It now also grows wild. It was Tree of the Year 2020 in Germany. The plant, except for the flowers, is considered highly poisonous, especially the bark and the fruits. Because of its toxicity to horses, robinia wood must not be used to build stalls.
