Am Nordrand des kleinen Luberon liegt der alte Ort Oppède le Vieux. Der Ort versetzt den Besucher in eine längst vergangene Zeit. Die Bewohner wechselten im 19. Jhd. nach einem Gemeindebeschluß etwas weiter hinab in die Ebene und mussten nicht mehr die mühsamen Anstiege in ihr altes Dorf auf sich nehmen.
Die Kirche Notre-Dame-d'Alidon wurde im romanischen Stil errichtet und ist eines der wenigen Bauten, die in dieser Gegend nicht zerstört wurden.
