In memory of Marie-claire who loved Nature

In memory of Marie-claire who loved Nature
Today's Sunday Challenge is: Dreaming

Yesterday we visited the Aston Locks Nature Reserve again and saw a pair of swans, 4 coots, an unidentified bird of prey (possibly a kestrel) and a delightful area of what appears to be Cuckoo Flower in one of the ponds. It would have been nice to collect all of this together as a dream photo, but the coots were too far away and the hawk was a blur in the sky. So here is a collage of dreaming.

The bird hide is now open, and a cold spring has arrived.

Nouchetdu38, Doug Shepherd, Rosalyn Hilborne, Ecobird and 24 other people have particularly liked this photo

The flower photo is a close-up of those growing in the water. For me it seems to have too many petals for a Lady's Smock/Cuckoo flower, but maybe it does flourish in water as well as damp areas.

I've only ever seen Cuckoo Flowers in wooded areas, close to the ground, but you're probably right Amelia. The only other thing I thought of was Water Hawthorn?

It's definitely not water hawthorn which looks like this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aponogeton_distachyos#/media/File:Aponogeton_distachyos.jpg.

We have it growing in our garden pond. It has narrow ovoid leaves and a very uniquely shaped flower.
