The old eye, ear and throat hospital, Shrewsbury
The eye, ear and throat hospital was built in 1881. It was designed by C.O. Ellis of Liverpool in the popular Gothic style, and built in Welsh Ruabon brick with a terracotta dressing. It cost in the region of £12,000 raised by public donation. The hospital closed in 1998 when a new head and neck hospital opened in the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The building is now converted into town houses.
