Bempton cliffs

Bempton cliffs
The Bempton cliffs are steep and there was plenty of puffin activity at sea level according to a guy with an adjusted telescope. He let me have a look and sure enough the little birds were quite plentiful there, but I couldn't recoginise them without the telescope. These puffin 'burrows' were about a third of the way down the cliffs, and just within the zoom distance of my lens. Gannets seemed to be the most common bird here, but of course they are large and easy to see.

The cliffs are chalky and seem to be held together by guano.

A great scene Amelia. I too was here a couple of years back now and so know how many gannets there are. I never saw puffins here though. A great series of captures from you here. ⭐ Very well done. ~ Herb

Crisscrossing diagonals -- I love them. The flight of birds crosses the implied diagonal extending from the cliff and I believe that helps people to take in the photo quickly.
