Group: Gulls (Larinae)
A Question...

Just discovered your group and as a gull fanatic I had to join.
A question...Although I personally never use comment codes or links I won't delete comments made on my shots that may have them. Will that prevent me from participating here? I will understand if it does although I don't belong to any 'Awards' or 'Post 1 Comment 50' groups, I do get the odd 'Seen In' comment left. Just looking for clarification before I spend too much time here.

When I came here last year May I made 50 contacts very quickly and was very active for a while and sure enough I had more comments than ever before on flickr. Well, over the past few months I have removed, one after another, a great deal of those contacts for the sole reason that scrolling down their spam filled pages is torture for me. It really is.
Of course my view count has plummeted, as have the numbers of comments, but luckily I have never been interested one iota in statistics so that's quite okay.
I'm also happy to have found some people who detest spam as much as I do. That is really nice and it makes the little island I feel I have retreated to, just a little bit bigger. :)
Jim Boynton has replied to Levina de RuijterI arrived last May as well and built up a big contact list, but have also pared it down. When someone made me a contact I would naturally reciprocate but then I would notice that their stream consisted mostly of flowers or architecture or macros...things I can appreciate for their beauty, but not really my cup of tea right now or just not a form of photography that I currently have an interest in. I'm sure people visit me and see cats & gulls and don't return...to each their own taste.
I never use comment codes or links in comments I post, but you may find a few on mine. Don't worry, I will never be one of those endlessly scrolling award seekers. I'm just here to view/share and have fun.
