While the issue at hand is important, it is not urgent. Our existing set of rules functions well overall, thanks to the judicious use of common sense by our administrators, compensating for any weaknesses in these guidelines. Therefore, we can afford to take the necessary time for a participative and unbiased approach.

However, we shouldn't procrastinate, aiming to present the ima team with a well-founded amendment proposal well in advance of the upcoming general meeting (in March 2024 2025).

[This results in a deadline of mid-January 2024. So we have three months.]

The steps are:

1. Defining the task ☑
2. Inviting people who are affected or simply willing to contribute their knowledge and experience ☑
3. Collecting problems and/or wishes ☑
4. Brainstorming on possible solutions
5. Weighing up the possible solutions, follow-up problems, uncovering contradictions
6. Formulation of an amended version of the guidelines
7. Discussion, fine-tuning and adoption of the proposal.
8. Submission to the ima team

edit Feb 16, 2024: The large number of reported problems makes such an ambitious schedule illusory. Fortunately, it is also not a time-critical problem. It is therefore proposed that the submission to the ima team be postponed until next year. This would allow sufficient time to carry out a truly thorough revision.
