Monte Gordo, Apeadeiro, Halt

I really like the station platforms, witness of so many memories and evocations. To have a coffee there, to chat with the ticket office or a waiting passenger, to immerse oneself in a book, etc...
Your two perspectives nicely represent these "lignes de fuite" that a train journey concretises...

We here love this train, stops at all halts and takes one hour for about 50km... tourists love it too and it survives...

I have happy memories of taking trains in Europe - usually part of our vacations if we planned them ourselves. Clean, efficient, and inexpensive if we bought a special pass before we left the States. Somehow, I didn't think that would ever end.

It goes on but many stations turned into halts, workforce reduction...

Bueno las vías y traviesas siguiendo hacia el fondo dan una imagen de profundidad.

Un staffed stations are usual here for the smaller ones at least some trains still stop, despite overcrowded trains and very high prices train travel is increasing in the UK or was before the virus !!!

Here many people take this train to go to work...

Mais uma semiabandonada. No extremo oposto, a da Meia Praia, em Lagos, pura e simplesmente desapareceu...tenho umas fotos de amigos sentados na gare em 1980 e há uns tempos andei no Google Maps à procura dela e...nada. Está lá uma "coisa" metálica para dar sombra. Em Lagos a mesma coisa, mas pelo menos não deitaram o edifício da antiga abaixo. Este, aparece no gmaps como "abandoned train station". Assim, sem pudor nem vergonha.

c 'est une très petite gare ! juste une halte. Il n' y a pas de seconde voie de dégagement. Depuis mon premier voyage au Portugal en 1978 , j' ai été le témoin de la modernisation du réseau . On voit que cette ligne a été modernisée ; ballast récent et traverses en béton.
