The district was once a province established in 1901 during King Chulalongkorn period consisting of Amphoe Khlong Sam Wa, Amphoe Saen Saep, Amphoe Nong Chok, and amphoe Jian Dab (เจียรดับ). The name Min Buri (meaning city of fish) was chosen to go with the existing Thanyaburi Province (meaning city of rice).

When we had to bring our both kids to the school in Min Buri my wife nearly every day used the opportunity to shop at this clean market.

One Wah is about two meters. Sam Wah are three Wah. The meaning of Klong Sam Wah is that the canal has the width of six meters.
