Main Street, Winnipeg

The famous Notman image -- I thought the colouring on this card might be superior to some of the others I have. Will have to check. The Valentine & Sons number is cut off at lower left.

Winnipeg's Banking District, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Posted somewhere in Ontario in 1907 to Miss L. Sevett, c/o Miss Collins, Capliegh, Cross-in-Hand, Sussex, England, without a message. No indication of publisher. Here we get a good view of part of the pre-1912 Bankers' Row, with the Bank of Commerce, Bank of Nova Scotia, Merchants Bank, Eastern Townships Bank and Bank of Ottawa among the seven buildings shown.

My memory is fine when *such warnings* are given and with pleasure do I yield to *such warnings*. Write once more and then I'll be in Coaticook. C."

6797. Military Parade - Winnipeg, Feb. 14th 17.

This is a later parade - Feb. 14, 1917. The 1917 poultry show, held at the Industrial Bureau in the background, was a roaring success -- according to the Winnipeg Tribune. Eggs laid during the show were to be donated to the returned soldiers at Deer Lodge, with several dozen having been so collected as of the date of the article (Feb. 15). No. 6 in a series by Charles A. Meyers.
