In fact, animals, and plants also influence each other, but here the natural balance never gets out of control as long as man doesn't intervene in these natural processes.
Conversely, I don't think this means eight billion people leaving the planet, but that we would have to take ourselves back and subordinate ourselves to nature and its laws again.
In light of various, self-created problems, this may be a mammoth task, but it can be mastered with united forces. After all, we have maneuvered (not only) ourselves into this situation with united forces, or allowed ourselves to be maneuvered into it without (any significant) resistance - at least most of us.
