A Jury of One's Peers

A Jury of One's Peers
Twelve forsythia blooms must decide: Within the context of a flowering bush; "Is the whole actually greater than the sum of its parts?"

The forsythia is one of the earliest bushes to flower in spring in the northern-most United States.

Shot on the grounds of a formerly grand estate (now a wildlife preserve). - May 1, 2011

These flowers are peaking this weekend and will be wilting by Wednesday. The daffodils are finally up and the tulips are only now developing buds (which will likely bloom in a few days if the temperature holds). It has been cloudy, cold, wet, windy. We've had only one day above seventy degrees. You should have seen it! People shedding their clothes to get 15 minutes of sun exposure! Everyone was driving fast with their windows down and the music blaring! Like kids in a candy store!!!)
