Very different materials and styles!
In this case I prefer the old one, although I appreciate glass facades but not in Portugal
They consume a lot of energy both in summer and winter

Seriously though they are both lovely buildings, - the modern one is the library? All that glass might be distracting for some but not me when I have my head in a book!! I love the older building. The roof reminds me of one of those stepped wooden candle holders you can put in the window at Christmas.
