ipernity Subscription Packages, valid from Dec 6, 2019
This updated subscription plan is based on the previous version, dated June 28, 2019. It differs in that the option for booking additional storage space by intensive users, which has been planned for one year, has finally been implemented.
However, instead of individual 100 GB boosts, a newly created Plus subscription with 250 GB included storage space is offered now. This was easier to realize and is more affordable for you. At the formerly calculated surcharge of 39.50 USD (approximately 36 EUR) now 150 GB additional storage space is offered instead of only 100 GB - that is 50% more at the same price. (This is possible by the new S3 Intelligent Tiering of the Amazon Web Service. With this process, rarely accessed content is moved to a cheaper storage class.)
If you need even more storage space, you can book as many Plus subscriptions as you like. This is also cheaper than previously planned. The saving amounts to in all cases 25% in relation to the previous concept. However, we appeal to your environmental awareness not to misuse ipernity or any other sharing service on the World Wide Web as a cloud. System-dependent, every sharing platform has to produce preview images of your originals in smaller size and keep them ready for immediate access. This costs on average an additional 50% of the storage space of the originals (and thus 50% more energy). Clouds are always the better solution for pure archiving. Nevertheless, we do not want to patronize anyone and therefore offer unlimited booking options at cost price (1).

This subscription plan will take effect on the date of publication (December 6, 2019). For protection of confidence, all renewals of club subscriptions made before April 1, 2019 will remain valid until the end of their term. Subscription renewals made after April 1, 2019 will be reduced pro rata temporis in the coming days based on the remaining term from the date of this disclosure. All affected club members will also be informed in advance via iper-Mail.

(1) To achieve complete cost transparency: 1 Terabyte S3 Frequent Access Memory costs at Amazon Web Service (Region Ireland) 23 USD net per month. This results in the following annual costs: 23 USD/month x 1.5 (factor for preview images) x 1.2 (VAT) x 12 months/year = gross 496.80 USD/year, or gross 451.60 EUR per year. With the Intelligent Tiering mentioned above, these costs can theoretically be reduced to 225.80 EUR/year. Practically this will never succeed completely. In addition monitoring and automation fees, as well as proportionate server costs have to be added. It is therefore a very demanding task to get by with the 319.60 EUR/year, which flow into the community cash by subscription of 4 "Plus" packages (= 1TB) . But we are facing up to this challenge.
