gilcomston south church, aberdeen

built by william smith in 1868, with spire completed in 1875, this church of scotland church has been in the news recently as its evangelical minister attempts to take his congregation out of the kirk in protest against equality for gay priests. up the road at queen's cross an openly gay minister has been appointed. the church is one of a cavalcade of spires along the main drag here.
