Robert the Bruce Heritage Centre, Renton Railway Station
Robert I (11 July 1274 – 7 June 1329), popularly known as Robert the Bruce, was King of Scots from 1306 until his death in 1329. Robert was one of the most famous warriors of his generation, and eventually led Scotland during the First War of Scottish Independence against England. He fought successfully during his reign to regain Scotland's place as an independent country and is today revered in Scotland as a national hero. Quoted from Wikipedia.

Apparently his internal organs are buried at St Serf’s Chapel in Dumbarton. This is a bit garish and not a suitable tribute to the King of the Scots. LOL

I have often photographed the spot where his embalmed viscera is interred, Amelia.

I have a photo of St Serf's Church here.

Thanks for your very kind comment.

Nice to see. I'd never heard of it. We aren't short of memorials to Bruce form the Bannockburn Centre to Dunfermline Abbey to St Serf's and the Bruce stone in Glentrool. I bet there are others too.

An unusual place and building for a memorial, but as Jean says, there is no shortage of them in Scotland! Very colourful and well taken. Now I'm going to listen to Ken the Bruce on the radio :)) Cheers, Rosa.
