'The Dark And Singing Tide' by David Annand

'The Dark And Singing Tide' by David Annand
In winter, from Tay Street, Goldeneye ducks can be seen diving. The inspiration for this piece was taken from one of William Soutar’s poems, The River. The artist has attempted to ‘extract’ a cubic meter (sic) from the river Tay and in it a Goldeneye duck is diving for molluscs. Quoted from the River Tay Public Art Trail Leaflet.

An excellent shot Joe and until you actually see the duck you could easily pass by and not know it is there !!!!

Unlike the Ludlow post box in Perth, Jeff, I noticed the duck the first time I passed here. Thanks for your very kind comment. Cheers, Joe

You must have had a sculpture map to find this, Joe. A really nice piece, Will you be going to Dundee this week for the grand opening of the the V&A?

I do have a sculpture map of Perth, Amelia, but I didn't need it to find the Goldeneye sculpture. I chanced upon this sculpture a few years ago, and I have photographed it many times. I have placed a link to the sculpture map in the caption under the photograph. I will be at the Castle to Crane Boat Race this weekend, so I will have to leave the V&A for another day. Thanks for your very kind comment. Cheers, Joe
