Each language should become added on a separate language specific form provided on the group settings. Don't forget to save the changes! This is my second attempt to explain how to provide separate description on multiple languages. Moreover, notice that the title can be given in multiple languages as well. This is useful to make sure that the group will appear on the search results in case someone uses their own language to search for the groups. Try for example these searches: www.ipernity.com/search/group?w=0&q=challenge www.ipernity.com/search/group?opt=&q=defis www.ipernity.com/search/group?w=0&q=Herausforderung On ipernity group guidelines it is also adviced not to use special characters on the group title (e.g. #, *, >> etc.). Some have used this to force their groups appear on top of the alphabetical 'Add to a group' list. But imagine this. If all would do the same, then it turns out as a futile attempt to stand out from the crowd.

Thanks to Rob it is now possible to remove the non member contributions with few clicks from the group you administrate. It may turn out useful if for some reason this is necessary.

You may have noticed the new group feature, which allows the group administrators to send messages to group members. On the following message form, there are then links to add all fellow administrators, moderators and/or members as recipients. But what you may not know or noticed yet, is that you can also choose selected recipients . All members of the group are then "your contacts". There "you" means you as a group administrator. This is why you can add also group members as recipients, even if they are not your personal contacts. Start writing the name onto recipient field, and the system then suggest names of the group members. This is better way to add recipients especially if there are hundreds of members in the group, and you wish to send message to only some of them. Alternatively you can add all members, and then start to exclude people, but it would then become much more time consuming. P.S. Do notice you can not use this feature to contact non-members. So, if there are for example contributions by former members, you have to contact them separately, if need to.

Many times the 'Organize' tool does the job quick and easily. For example: 1) Choose one album via 'Albums' tab, and click the album title. 2) Then use the drop down menu 'Edit these items' on top right. 3) Choose for example 'Keywords', and you can then define a new keyword to all images in that album at once. Also try to use the 'Advanced search' feature above the bottom film strip. You can for example search and choose all images taken on the same month of a year, and change some setting for all of them. Help to get rid of inactive groups Test the true activity of your groups. The group activity is not only about number of members and contributions. Upload some test images and keep them as "Me only (private)". Then share such images as one only per every group where you are a member. Sharing private images on groups make them visible on those groups only. Other group members can still comment on them. Example: You may become surprised to get only very few or zero views on such images. That is because people don't usually visit group pages to see what other group members have contributed. Most likely people only follow what their contacts have posted. Or they visit Explore to see if their own images appear there, and then may have a look on some other interesting images as well. Only very popular groups, challenge groups, and playful game groups becomes visited regularly . When your photos become visited, liked and commented, you may think it is because you have shared them on multiple groups. But very likely people have seen them because you are among their contacts. Please do not continue using groups where people only dump their images, and never visits them! Contributing neglected groups does not make your images seen because nearly no one visits those groups anyway. By leaving such groups you make a statement to stop supporting such behavior.

Hello World! A short update on my whereabouts. I've been alright. Since last spring, I have totally lost my interest on amateur photography and social media. First I just planned to have a short break. But then it turned out as a "way of life". I got more time to spend with my close ones, and also more time to be idle, which is good in a long run. According to some studies, being idle and even bored is good for the brains . But I also do feel like I have betrayed ipernity and all my contacts here. And I do feel ashamed because of that. Please try to forgive me that. So, most likely I'll continue being idle and inactive. And definitely stop giving any promises, which I clearly can't keep. But I will continue paying for the ipernity standard subscription, to keep my articles and posts available. And if you do need to reach out for me, you will find the way ;-)
