Das "neue" Rathaus wurde von 1872 bis 1883 nach Entwürfen des Architekten Friedrich von Schmidt im Stil der Neogotik errichtet. Zwischen dem Rathaus und dem hübschen Rathauspark befindet sich der Rathausplatz, der nicht nur für Kundgebungen am 1. Mai genutzt wird, sondern auch für einen der ältesten Wiener Christkindlmärkte, Open Air Konzerte und andere Events wie hier für das Wiener Filmfestival 2021.

The "new" Town Hall was built from 1872 to 1883 in the Neo-Gothic style according to designs by the architect Friedrich von Schmidt. Between the town hall and the pretty park Rathauspark is the plaza Rathausplatz, which is not only used for rallies on 1 May, but also for one of Vienna's oldest Christmas markets, open-air concerts and other events such as here for the Vienna Film Festival 2021.
