1821 wurde auf dem Gelände hinter der Augustinerbastei, unmittelbar neben der kaiserlichen Hofburg, der Kaisergarten, ursprünglich Hofgarten, angelegt. Er war der Privatgarten des Kaisers. Erst 1919 wurde dieser hübsche Park für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich.
In 1821, the Imperial Garten, originally Court Garden, was laid out on the grounds behind the bastion Augustinerbastei, directly next to the imperial castle. It was the emperor's private garden. It was not until 1919 that this beautiful park was opened to the public.
