Barn Owl on a fence in the overcast gloom of this evening - one of three from the Owl box - all for HFF to you all!
Tried a few shots last night with a longer lens, but the very low light level (darkness!) defeated me. So tonight tried the 70 - 200mm and at least got something!

Thanks very much aNNa, we were lucky enough to see their ghostly shapes flying around, but soon lost them in the dark.

Thanks Rosa and to everyone else too; I am very belatedly catching up on last Friday, failed this week altogether; the owls have been very busy since leaving the nest, keeping my son-in-law awake most nights. Their favourite tree is about 20 metres from the house! As far as we can tell there are three healthy youngsters that have fledged/

Thanks Carol, they seem to be thriving this year and luckily have taken up residence in the owl box we put up in my daughter's garden a few years back. Hopefully they will continue to use it in future years.
