There is plenty of software around to play with and some free if you don't have anything, try Microsoft's 'Image Composite Editor (ICE)', it is free at (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/product/computational-photography-applications/image-composite-editor/),
I should use a tripod ideally, but never have got one in my pocket when I see something that might work as a Panorama, so all mine just happen to be hand held sequences.
