All Saints Church Godshill - the south nave
The south nave and Rood beam of the double-naved church plan
All Saints Church Godshill, known as The Church of the Lily Cross from the
unique mural on the east wall of the south transept depicting Our Lord crucified on a
triple-branched flowering lily (dated to about 1450).
There has been a church here from Saxon times, the present church
is the largest of the pre-reformation churches on the Isle of Wight and
is the fourth on the site, dating largely from the early 14th century.
