Owen, thanks for the visit(s) and comments; a short history - from an early age my father had an interest in photography and at age 17 spent three summer seasons in a photographic processing department. He was posted to India 1944 to 1946 and I expect he took some film stock along, although a lot of the print paper used out there had WD printed on the reverse. A reference from his commanding officer makes note that father was responsible for starting up a camera club at the Delhi depot, so no doubt that provided some of the material. I don't think they had access to enlarging facilities as the majority of surviving prints were all made by contact using a daylight frame.
As a (young) boy and chief stirrer of the Paterson Bakelite developing tank, I learnt the basics of D&P using the same process, those were the days! (I think I'll add this note to the two relevant albums).
