St Peter & St Paul's Church ~ Blandford.
With 2 PiP's.
In 1731 a devastating fire swept through Blandford Forum and destroyed most of the town's historic centre. Among the buildings destroyed was the medieval church of St Peter and St Paul. The architects John and William Bastard designed a new church in Georgian style, and also designed most of the buildings in the town centre. The new church was completed by 1739 on the side of an enlarged market place. It is an excellent example of a Georgian church in classical style.

The information in the second PiP is both fascinating and humbling............what bravery..!! If anyone deserved a VC it was him.........and how brilliant that he survived that war, and the next!
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton clubYes what a brave man and very deserving of the medal. You just cannot imagine how awful it must have been. Many thanks for your kind comments.

I really like this scene. The yellow of the cyclists really makes a great foreground. I'm guesing from the PiPs (and their matching clothes) that it was some kind of club event.
As for the architects, some years ago a French work colleague of mine rejoiced in the name of Giles Le Bastard... Maybe some distant relation.. But they did a nice job anyway!
Best Wishes, and a good weekend
Peter
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubI am pleased you like the series, thank you. Yes I think it was a club event. I think if I had the same name as the architect, I would change it!! There are still a few of them around ;-)
Best wishes and good weekend,
Rosa.
