Also, nach allem, was ich jetzt gesehen habe, auf Karten und in wiki, würde ich erst einmal den Titel ändern in "Great Wall of Switzerland" - sinnigerweise haben sie auf die Abbruchkante auch gleich die Kantonsgrenze gesetzt. Wäre im Konfliktfall gut zu verteidigen. ;-)
Aber, wie ich es erwartet hatte: mittel-gebirgiges Umland und insgesamt viel, viel höher gelegen (irgendwo habe ich gelesen, dass am Escarpment die höchste Stelle Manitoulins liegt - 500 und irgendwas Meter ...). Trotz der Felswand hatte ich auf Manitoulin einen sehr milden, sanften und heimeligen Eindruck - das fällt mir auf dem Jura, gleich wo, fast immer schwer ...
Deine Aufnahmen sind allerdings sehr gut, besonders das 2.PiP hat es mir angetan! Klasse.

BK, ja, der Kessel hier ist ja auch viel jünger; Würm-Eiszeit. Der "grosse Bruder" ist da schon ein paar Milliönchen Jahre älter. ;-).

Leon, ja, du hast wohl recht. Die Bezeichnung "Gran Canyon of Switzerland" findet man in gewissen Tourismus-Seiten; das klingt natürlich viel spektakulärer. ;-).
