The Rhone river rises at the Rhone Glacier in Switzerland, flows into Lake Geneva, and after 800 km (260 km of which are in Switzerland) it flows into the Mediterranean 40 km west of Marseille.

Yes, cycling on the shore of a lake is usually very pleasant, and mostly there are few climbs because the lake is usually flat. :-)

Beautiful, Poly! Hard to tell what fascinates me most: the beautiful Swiss/French Alps crowning the lake, the pleasant fence (and bicycle!) silhouetted against the water or the gorgeous array of golden and coppery flowers in the foreground.
