Looks like a temporary fence, better than the rusty one over the tracks. I suppose having an engine each end saves turning. Yes, I know they can move in reverse! Great photo and HFF

Temporary maybe, but it would not surprise me if it is still there. Money is tight on the heritage railways and they only exist through donations and volunteer workers.

Super colour rendition from the slide Neil. Lovely sunny day too..............unlike today..!! The fence wouldn't really keep anyone of the rails, but it easy to take photos over and enhances this one nicely..!!

A single carriage, but two locomotives:-) I'm somehow reminded of my interrailing days when on a (diesel) train in Wales there were three people in front: one driving, one blowing the horn at level crossings and one holding the teacups;-) Belated HFF, Neil!

There must have been an announcement about you being on that Welsh train and they then made sure it was not under-staffed ;-)
