Episyrphus balteatus (PiP)

Die Hainschwebfliege (Episyrphus balteatus) gehört zu den Wanderinsekten.
Sie fliegen im Herbst von Mitteleuropa nach Süden und Südwesten in die Mittelmeerregion und überqueren dabei auch die Pyrenäen und die Alpen. Im Frühjahr geht es dann wieder retour. Ihre Flügelschlagfrequenz kann bis zu 300 Hertz betragen.
Vor 10 Jahren hatten wir ganze Schwärme im Garten, jetzt freut man sich über jedes einzelne Exemplar, dass sich noch zeigt.
