Hove Museum

Folder: Arts & artefacts - Museums, galleries, exhibitions, music and other art forms
As with all my museum images, I have designed my own logo for the album. This links the items together, but is not meant to make the images look as if they are the museum's own photos.

Toys from the Wizard's Attic - Hove Museum - 9.4.…

The lighting in the Wizard's Attic, or toy gallery, is very low, making photography without flash a real challenge.

Jug & Teapot - Hove Museum - 9.4.2015

Craft Gallery Landing - Hove Museum - 9.4.2015

I am not sure whether it is for conservation of the artifacts or because of tight budgets, but the lighting is generally low in this museum. I have used Photoshop to show the gallery in a better light!

I photographed a information panel for a cup & saucer, but I think I snapped the wrong panel. But you never know with artistic matters. It could be that!

Do sculptures like this end up in museums because no-one wants to buy them?

Stiletto - Hove Museum - 9.4.2015

This exhibit is hung from the ceiling, on which there was a prominent smoke detector which I have removed in Photoshop - not one of my better efforts 15.4.2015 - now improved!

Britain's Hollywood? - Hove Museum - 9.4.2015

As there has been a bit of interest in this photo., I have added another at www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/37756548 The quality is not as good as this, which isn't brilliant, but it may be of interest. This small, free local museum has some interesting galleries, but the film making section, with its mini cinema, showing short black and white films, is the stand-out part for me.

Britain's Hollywood - Hove Museum - 9.4.2015

Not a brilliant photo, but the gallery has fairly low lighting, and even if I wanted to use flash, the display cases would bounce it back! I thought it might be worth adding, as the previous shot ( www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/37702518 ) had interest shown in it.
