Postcards from the Edwardian period depicting locomotives and trains from the pre-grouping era, before 1923 when the 'Big Four' were formed. Although the pictures have not been enhanced, the format has been changed to include the descriptive text that appears on the rear. As these are doubtless well-known images, I shall see what interest there is in them and then either remove them or upload more…

The locomotive is a GWR 2021 Class built in August 1902 at Wolverhampton Works,
Lot J3 Works No. 716. Rebuilt with pannier tanks in September 1916 and was withdrawn in September 1954 allocated to Birkenhead, although many years were spent at Slough.
