Found in a bunch of wedding photos that didn't end up in the official album!. My niece had just thrown her bouquet towards a group of eligible young friends and relatives - hence her awkward pose.

15 Vicar's Close Wells c1953

Uploaded for Vintage Photos Theme Park, distinctive house theme. I lived here from 1953 for a couple of years. The street is reputed to be the oldest complete street, lived in continuously, in Europe. Built between 1348 and 1430 it was for people who worked in the adjacent cathedral. My Dad was on the staff there then.

Summer 1970 Burnham-on-Sea

This is a fairly straight scan from a 35mm slide. Anyone who visits Burnham has to have a photo with the Lower Light. That light when aligned with the more traditional Upper light, guided ships through the treacherous channels in the mud. It was decommissioned in 1969, just before this photo was taken, but returned to active service in 1993, when the High Lighthouse was decommissioned.

Muriel Sutters with Percy's former car at his fune…

Muriel is my late mother. The car is a 19 litre Mercedes Maybach tourer, which Percy Pritchard owned in earlier years and which formed part of his funeral cortege. The noisy aero-engined car needed special permission from the Hereford Cathedral authorities before it could enter the cathedral precincts.

HTT all Very early in my railway modelling career! The craggy bits of landscape to the left of the scene were actually bits of concrete from the rockery in the garden. The tinplate station building, just below my hand, was at that point over 30years old, as it was part of my Dad's childhood Bing train set.
