This is a high church anglican church. Its history is well documented in its excellent website. I had been there once before for the funeral of Father Fynes-Clinton,the rector in the 1950s. I was a prefect at a school in Kent whose head master was friend of Fr.F-C and I and other prefects represented the school. It must have been in 1959 or 60. There were several high-ranking clergy from the Anglo-Catholic tradition and a senior Greek-Orthodox priest, maybe a bishop, wearing that church's traditional tall black hat.
