These vehicles were part of a display of privately owned collectors' hearses, hence the adornments that might not be to everyone's taste. The event was an open day, run by the Friends of Nunhead Cemetery, an historic burial ground in south London, for which the Friends were raising funds for improvements and conservation work. The rear view of what I believe to be the same vehicle, has a number plate almost hidden below a plate, with the word BONES on it. The number plate is for a 1977 Cadillac hearse. This looks very similar to much later models - a 1991 Concours d'elegance model for example.

Most of the buses run by Brighton & Hove Buses are named after people with a relationship with the city. They may be local people who have made a big contribution to the city's life, or famous people who have lived in the city at some time in their lives.

One complication of photographing at a modern quayside is the presence of security and safety fencing. I am always interested to see 'foreign' trawlers. Padstow is the furthest west I think I have noted, but we have had boats from Peterhead and Dumfries. The last must be the furthest from its home port, as Dumfries is on the west coast of Scotland.
