A window display in a local decorating store. I think that wallpaper designers are not given enough recognition as artists. This is also true of fabric designers.

Good to hear from you John. I haven't been posting much recently as I only go out for shopping, combined with a bit of exercise and have been concentrating on other hobbies. I trust that you and yours are well. My wife and I have had our first Covid jabs, but that won't make a lot of difference to our level of outdoor activity for some months to come.
Window dressers are another group of under-rated artists in my view. I have tried to celebrate their work when I see well designed displays.

I haven't been taking many photos, either, Phil. Street photography is doomed when the streets are empty. A polar vortex has been visiting, too, and the cold makes walking difficult during a lockdown -- no place to go in and warm up. My niece has generously been doing my shopping for me, so that reduces excursions into the cold. I agree about window dressers. I gather in the big stores in New York City they're expected to be artists. Bonwit Teller hired Salvador Dalí to do a window back in 1939, and people still expect artistic displays in the trendier stores.

I just remembered -- Gloria Cassens, the excellent street photographer from Chicago, was discovered while she was taking photos of an artistic window display there.
