Winchelsea Bay is quite shallow, so that when the tide goes out there are large areas of wet sand and mud, with pools in between. We stayed in our friends' caravan next to the beach, It was great to go down to the beach as the sun set. The beach faces south-east, so the Sun sets over the land to the west.

Thanks, Christel.
Although there is a caravan park behind the sea wall, very few people were on the beach in the evenings and it became quite mystical as the light faded.
